The Democrat front-runner Hillary Clinton has been shrouded with controversy and scandal for most of her political career. September 11, 2012 an Islamic militant group attacked the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi. The attack left 4 people dead including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, the first U.S. Ambassador killed in the line of duty since 1979. State department officials denied requests for additional security at the consulate just before the attack which lead to criticism of Hillary Clinton’s leadership of the state department. After the attack Hillary Clinton and other officials told media that the Benghazi attack was caused by an anti-Muslim video called “Innocence of Muslims”. This was not the case as the attack was premeditated, Hillary had knowledge of this and still lied to the public about the terrorist attack.
Bill and Hillary Clinton and their business partners Jim and Susan McDougal ran an outfit called the Whitewater Development Corporation. In the simplest terms the business was a get rich quick scam. Whitewater sold lots of land with an agreement that said if the buyer missed a mortgage payment they would automatically be reclassified as a renter and all equity on their property would be lost. In some cases Whitewater would repossess the land and resell it. Criminal charges were brought against the McDougal’s. There was not enough evidence against the Clinton’s to charge them. Bill Clinton later pardoned Susan McDougal of all her charges (Pardongate).
$1,000 to $100,000, Hillary Clinton hit the jackpot on her first investment in the commodity market. Clinton had stated that she educated herself about the market and said she watched it closely. Heavy media attention forced the administration to remove the Clinton’s associates and reinstate the employees back to their jobs. The FBI, DOJ, and the Whitewater Independent Counsel further investigated Travelgate and found that Bill Clinton didn’t have any involvement. Hillary Clinton was allegedly a central role in the firings and made false statements about her role in it. The final report sought no charges against her. Clinton’s statements were false but there wasn’t enough evidence to bring charges against her.

Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster who was one of the Clinton’s closest friend. He was found dead in his car at a park outside of Washington on July 20, 1993. Foster was connected to Travelgate and Whitewater, his knowledge of the scandals could have pointed more evidence toward the Clinton’s. US attorney Miguel Rodriguez disagreed with the the findings that Foster killed himself, pointing out photographs and medical testimony to suggest a second gunshot wound was on Foster’s neck. Rodriguez claimed that evidence was suppressed and that the suicide was a cover up.
The White House FBI files controversy arose after Craig Livingstone the director to the White House’s Office of Personnel Security requested and received documents from the FBI. Livingstone who was unqualified for the job was hired by Hillary. Background reports of hundreds of people were pulled, many of which were political opponents to the Clinton’s. Hillary Called the incident a,”Completely honest bureaucratic snafu”. The Clinton’s were cleared of all charges due to lack of evidence.
The Clinton Healthcare Plan, was officially known as the Health Security Act. Bill Clinton campaigned heavily for the reform in his presidential bid in 1992 once he got into office he appointed the chair of the task force to his wife Hillary Clinton.
